The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said Iran’s missile attack on Israel failed and vowed retaliation. ‘Iran made a big mistake tonight and it will pay for it,’ he said. Speaking on state TV, Iran’s armed forces chief of staff, Maj Gen Mohammad Bagheri, threatened to repeat Tehran’s attack against Israel and target its infrastructure: ‘Tonight’s operation will be repeated several times stronger.’
