Joe Biden has said the US would not back an Israeli retaliatory strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities, after Tehran launched a massive ballistic missile attack in response to the assassinations of the Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, and Hamas’s chief, Ismail Haniyeh.
