Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has faced another setback after a three-judge bench declined to stop the Senate impeachment trial.
High Court Judges Eric Ogola, Freda Mugambi, and Anthony Mrima ruled that it is in the public interest for the constitutional process to proceed without interruption.
However, the judges have allowed Gachagua to appear before the court on Friday after the Senate deliberates on the impeachment motion.
Through his lawyers, Gachagua argued that he should be allowed to file court documents manually if the Judiciary’s Case Tracking System (CTS) fails.
