BARCELONA – Fast Buds swept the Autoflower World Cup at its 2025 iteration in Barcelona, Spain. The cup is timed to the legendary cannabis convention Spannabis, which is saying goodbye to its storied location venue called the Fira de Cornella after 21 years. Spannabis is officially heading to the Spanish city of Bilbao in 2026. The news of the final Barcelona show made this year’s competitions even more sentimental for the craft growers who make this community what it is.
Fast Buds took home four prestigious wins at the Autoflower World Cup 2025 including 1st Place Best Sativa for the Guava grown by Dagga, and 1st place Highest THC strain for the new Frostbanger Auto grown by Sebastian Good. Fast Buds also took home 2nd place for Best New Strain with Sebastian Good’s Z-Up. Fast Buds won the AWC award for Best Autoflower Seed Bank, voted for by the growing community for the second year in a row.
“It’s great to wake up today as a champion,” says Dagga. The world-renowned home grower born in Slovenia perfected his craft initially as an effort to help his father fight a battle with cancer. Dagga dedicates his win to his late father.
“I promised myself and my pops that I will attend some major cup, but winning a trophy while wearing his clothing at the ceremony was probably the strongest thing I experienced this year in Barcelona,” says Dagga. “I’m proud and beyond humbled seeing all the love and support from friends and the community.”
The AWC welcomed a seriously competitive tum-out this year with a packed roster of growers, all of whom brought the heat to the competition shining a light on the truly potent, decadent cultivars in the Autoflower varietal.
“This Spannabis is a special one anyways because it is the last, and because it’s more than anything about family coming together from all over the world, celebrating this plant. Especially with Autoflower, I’m so proud that the community really decided that Fast Buds has the best autoflower genetics in the world. That means the world to me, because the community means the everything to me. I knew Frostbanger was a banger, I knew that strain was the frostiest Autoflower ever. It tested at nearly 28% and I will grow it again and bring it to 30%. When I’m not traveling all over the world. It performed through the roof.”
Sebastian Good won two awards this year at the AWC 2025: Highest Testing THC for the Frostbanger and 2nd for Best New Strain with the Z-Up.
